Privacy Policy

Overview
Gmail Quick Filters ("the Extension") is a browser extension that adds custom, color-coded filter buttons next to Gmail's search bar, each linking to a saved Gmail search.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the Extension.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal data.
The only data the Extension stores is the list of filters you create yourself:
- Filter name
- Gmail search query (e.g.
is:unread, label:work) - Text and background color
This is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). We do not have
servers, and we do not transmit, upload, or share this data with ourselves or any third parties. The Extension
makes no network requests at all.
How Your Information is Used
Your saved filters are used only to render the buttons in Gmail's header and to build the search URL when you click one. Nothing you type into Gmail itself — emails, contacts, or search terms you didn't save as a filter — is read or stored by the Extension.
Permissions
The Extension requires the following permissions to function correctly:
- storage: Used to save your quick filters locally so they persist across browser sessions and stay in sync between the popup editor and the buttons shown in Gmail.
- Content script on
https://mail.google.com/*: Used to inject the filter bar next to Gmail's search box and to read its position on the page so the buttons line up correctly. The Extension does not run on, or have access to, any other website.
Third-Party Services
We do not use any third-party analytics, trackers, or advertising services.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of the Extension after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
